The Brain Cloud will be at Barbes every Monday playing bluegrass, Western Swing, and country jazz and blues.  This band features some of the finest jazz musicians in town:  Kevin Dorn on drums, Tamar Korn on vocals, Skip Krevens on guitar, Dennis Lichtman on Fiddle, Mandolin, and Vocals, Andrew Hall on bass, and myself on lap steel.  A great place to be on a hot summer night!

I'll be playing classic country late nights at the Ear Inn every first Wednesday with the Dime Store Romeos--John Gill, Brian Nalepka, and Kevin Dorn.  Love this gig!

Rob, Grant, Jim,and I have all been writing and working on each other's tunes for a while now and it's gotten to be a really fun experience!  This Monday we'll be videotaping our set, so come add to the clapping, hooting, and hollering between songs!  

i'm pleased to be joined by some great players on this Monday at Barbes: Roy Williams, Adam Moss, Dave Speranza, Arthur Vint, and the amazing Ana Egge!  We'll be doing swing, country, and some new arrangements of Ana's tunes.  Should be a spectacular night!

I've been playing in a new band with the wonderful Ana Egge, doing really nice versions of classic country tunes.  This is my second gig with them and I'm glad we're doing it at Superfine!

Brain Cloud at Ottawa Jazz Fest

Excited to be back at this second installment of my residency at Freddy's, this time with Brian Geltner and Danny Weller on drums. 

The Hot and Ready Club of Brooklyn--led  by Brain Cloud steel guitarist Raphael McGregor, this all star cast of musicians will exceed audience expectations with extraordinary renditions of swing and country standards, great tasting original compositions, and outstanding ensemble playing while providing strong drinks at a reasonable price.  

Myself, Nick Russo, Danny Weller, and Kevin Dorn will be playing at Superfine on March 30th, making some good music and enjoying the wonderful hospitality of this great spot.  Come out and enjoy the food, drink, and music with us!

I'll be playing a solo set, which I haven't done in quite some time, at the renowned (and renewed) Freddy's Backroom.  Looking forward especially to trying a new sound setup I'm working on!

While the Brain Cloud sleeps off their goyishe holiday excesses and ramps up for whatever New Year's debauchery, myself and some esteemed compatriots will take over Barbes from 7-9 pm on Dec. 30th.  I don't want to give anything away, but...there's gonna be some good music!  Oops!  Too much of a hint! Wink.

I've got a few new tunes we'll be showing off this coming Friday at Signature Theater.  We'll be taking advantage of the fact that very few people actually listen closely to the music there to play some non-standard rep and some free jazz. Also some waltzes.  

Honored to have been asked again to participate in this year's Steel Guitar Convention.  Very much looking forward to playing for and with some fellow steel guitar enthusiasts and great players.

Playing post-show music with Oran Etkin and Danny Weller!

For the second year in a row we'll be back at the Stone Barns Center for the Harvest Festival!  What an amazing place to be and to play music!  Can't wait for this one!

If you don't know the Castello Plan, you should!  Fantastic food and drinks, great atmosphere, and great music.  Join me and a bassist for some quiet (ish) music.

Thrilled to bring my group (Oran Etkin, Vinnie Sperrazza, and Jason Sypher) back to Barbes for a nice long set.  We'll perform cuts from the record and new material that I'm dying to try out!

I'll be taking over the Brain Cloud's slot on Monday June 10th, and bringing with my band of greats: Oran Etkin, Vinnie Sperrazza, and Jason Sypher.  On the 10th we'll play mostly swing, and on the 11th we'll play mostly originals!

The Brain Cloud will release it's second album on CD AND vinyl, "Outside Looking In," tonight at Jalopy, and I'm just thrilled.  Not only did I perform on all the selections on this record, I also edited, co-produced, and engineered some of the overdub sessions in my home studio.  Can't wait!  For more info and to purchase tickets, click here.
